Technical writer with 4 years experience and Master's degree in Technical Communications
A graduate of Minnesota State University at Mankato with a Master's degree in Technical Communication, I have four years of experience in technical writing and a combined twelve years experience in the technical field, where I have also worked in technical support and computer operations.
As a technical writer, I am the user's advocate. I work with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) throughout the production cycle to design and create content. The end goal for any of my work tasks is to find new ways to improve the user experience, whether it's through a detailed install guide, the embedded content found in the UI wizards, or in the online documentation.
I am experienced with both Agile and Waterfall development cycles. I am experienced with DITA, XML, HTML, and Arbortext Editor. I learn new systems, tools, and procedures quickly in response to changes in the work environment.
